Hong Kong closes last boat people's camp
The authorities in Hong Kong have closed the only remaining detention centre for Vietnamese boat people. More than two-hundred-and-fifty Vietnamese migrants were repatriated from the High Islands detention centre before it was closed. However, several hundred former Vietnamese boat people are still stranded in Hong Kong because they have not been accepted for resettlement in a third country.
