Double trouble for Irish swimming champion
The Irish swimmer, Michelle Smith, is facing a possible life ban after the sport's governing body said a second sample of her urine showed that it had been adulterated. Her case will now be forwarded to a FINA doping panel. Michelle Smith, who won three swimming gold medals at Atlanta in 1996, has always denied allegations that she improved her performance by taking drugs. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
