Heat kills more than a hundred in northern India

Indian officials say more than a hundred people have died as a result of the blistering heat wave in the north and west of the country, with some estimates putting the number of fatalities at a hundred and forty.

Temperatures approached fifty desgrees in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Weather forecasters say the heat will continue for at least another three days, but they're predicting a good monsoon season withb the first showers reaching Delhiin the third week of June.
