Japan pop star marries

One of Japan's most famous pop stars, Seiko Matsuda, has married for the second time in a surprise wedding which has gripped the nation.

Seiko Matsuda's announcement of her marriage to a dentist six years her junior was carried live on Japanese television.

The BBC Tokyo correspondent says the public have long been fascinated by her colourful career and love life, and her open flouting of convention has made her a heroine for many Japanese women.
