China arrests Taiwanese businessmen

Taiwanese officials say six Taiwanese businessmen have been arrested in China on suspicion of spying, and a further twelve have had restrictions placed on their movements.

One Taiwanese newspaper said they were suspected of obtaining military secrets via the internet.

They're being held in six cities, but it's not known how long they've been in custody.

Taiwan's semi-official Straits Exchange Foundation, which deals with civilian links between Taiwan and China, said the those arrested were honest businessmen and were most unlikely to have been spies.
