Syria attacks Israel's Golan settlement plans

Syria has condemned Israeli plans to settle more Jews in the Golan Heights, which were seized by Israeli forces in the 1967 war.

The state-run newspaper Tishreen today accused the Israeli Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu of making new threats and provocations against the Arabs, and blocking attempts at reaching a peace agreement.

The paper was responding to an announcement yesterday that around four-hundred new homes in the Golan Heights are being offered for sale to Jewish settlers as part of an attempt to increase the Israeli population in the area.
