Palestinian woman evicted in Jerusalem

Jewish settlers backed by Israeli security forces evicted a Palestinian woman from a house in Jerusalem's old city today after claiming to have bought it.

A crowd of Palestinians gathered as the woman refused to vacate the house, but after negotiations with border guards, she agreed to leave.

The settlers belong to an ultra-nationalist Jewish group, Ateret Cohanim.

Correspondents say that Palestinians frequently accuse the group of using fraud and forgery to buy property in the old city and nearby Arab neighbourhoods.
