After the news that Bristol, the 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice-presidential hopeful Sarah Palin, was pregnant, the BBC took to the streets of St Paul, Minnesota - the venue of a Republican convention.

We asked people for their views on Mrs Palin as John McCain's running mate, and whether the pregnancy issue has altered their opinion of her.
