Bangalore's railway station is a gateway for thousands of India's hopefuls, coming to chase their dreams in the country's booming IT and call-centre hub.

But some of the daily arrivals never make it past the platforms.

Many of the city's 20,000 street children make the vast railway station their home.

Here, they wander untidy and unkempt and survive by begging, stealing and doing menial jobs such as sweeping trains and platforms.
