Penguins picked

More than 550 passengers have opted for guided shore excursions, but with bigger ships it can reach up to 2,000.

The most popular is a trip to see some of the islands' hundreds of thousands of penguins.

British tourists are keen on tours to the battlefield sites of the 1982 conflict, says Debbie Summers, tourism development manager for a Stanley-based shipping company.

"We are not at that stage where we are blasť about seeing people here, we are still excited about it," she says.
