Sea life

"The sea is as much a part of our life as the land. Everything comes here by boat, and itís our highway - it is the natural way to travel," says Peter. "Thereís nothing between here and Norway, just 200 miles of sea."

Seals are a common sighting and killer whales can be spotted coming into the bay.

Alex goes fishing regularly with a neighbour, catching ollicks (local name for ling), haddock and cod for their own consumption. The seaweed washed up is collected to be used as a fertiliser.
