Man held after unexplained death

A man has been arrested in connection with the unexplained death of a 69-year-old man in a Berkshire town.

The victim was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital following an incident on Southcote Farm Lane in Southcote, Reading, police said.

He was pronounced dead on Saturday night and a post-mortem examination is due on Monday.

A 34-year-old man who was arrested, remains in custody while police continue their inquiries.

Det Insp Dave Hubbard, from Thames Valley Police, said: "Until the post-mortem takes place tomorrow, I would not want to speculate on what occurred last night or how this man died."
