If I were prime minister: Shankari Ghosh

India will be holding elections over the course of one month from 16 April.

BBC News asked people from all corners of the world's largest democracy what they would do if they were prime minister.

Shankari Ghosh
If I had any power I would try to use it for the betterment of the poor people who struggle everyday for basic necessities.

I feel let down by leaders as there are no jobs or health care in my village in Bengal and many of us work day and night in far away places like Mumbai.

While our parents struggle there, we struggle here to keep it all going. I would have made sure that there were hospitals in every part of the country and everyone would be treated, no matter how rich or how poor.

Also I would have made it easier for people to vote wherever they are, as many are unable to travel to home town due work pressure.

Most of us will have to either forgo our salary if we take leave to go and vote or not vote at all. I would like to find an easier solution to this problem.
