Riots in Kuwait City
Reports from Kuwait say the security forces have fired shots into the air and used tear gas to quell a riot by Egyptian workers.
Eye-witnesses said dozens of people were injured in the disturbances in a residential area of the capital, Kuwait City.
The trouble apparently broke out after a scuffle between Egyptians and Bangladeshis.
When the security forces moved in, the Egyptians pelted them with stones, attacked shops and homes, and set fire to vehicles.
More than a quarter of a million Egyptians live in Kuwait, many of them employed as unskilled labourers.
