Odeon cinema could re-open doors
Odeon Cinema in Jersey
Kevin Lewis is keen to reach a deal quickly
The former manager of the Cinecentre in Jersey could open a new cinema in the old Odeon building.

The Odeon closed earlier this month, blaming increased competition.

The Cinecentre at the Hotel De France closed in September, leaving the Cineworld multiplex on the seafront is the island's only cinema.

But Kevin Lewis, the cinema's former manager, is pressing ahead with his plans to show films at Jersey's recently shut Odeon.

In order to reopen as a cinema, a condition on the sale would have to be lifted, as C Le Masurier, which bought the building, agreed not to reopen it as a cinema.

Mr Lewis is confident he can secure an agreement to reopen the cinema, but he wants to do so before the cinema equipment is removed.
