Biker dies in crash on coast road

A Danish motorcyclist has been killed in a collision with a van on the Isle of Man's Jurby coast road.

The crash, which happened at about 1500 BST on Monday, involved an Urban Tiger style Honda Fireblade bike and a blue Ford Transit van.

Police said the man's motorcycle, which was heading towards Bride, collided with the van on a sharp bend.

The victim was the second biker from overseas to die on the island's roads in the space of two days.

Second crash

On Sunday, 52-year-old Christian Roland Houlie, from Ouzilly, France, died in a crash at the 11th milestone on the TT course.

Mr Houlie was on the Island with friends to watch the TT races. His family have been informed of his death.

Witnesses to both collision are still being urged to come forward and contact police in Douglas.

Another two men from Lincolnshire are seriously ill in hospital after crashing near Alpine corner.

A 21-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, are being treated in Nobles Hospital.
