One hundred islanders will get the chance to go on board HMS Daring, one of the world's most advanced warships, when it visits Guernsey.

The ship, which is affiliated to the island, is paying a three day visit from 23 to 25 April.

This will be the third official visit of the type 45 destroyer to the Bailiwick's waters.

How to get one of the tickets, which will be given out on a first come first served basis, is yet to be announced.

Those who do get a ticket would take a boat transfer and climb the ladders before being given a flavour of life on the ship.

The warship was affiliated to Guernsey in 2008.
