A new air link between Guernsey and the UK could begin in the spring.
Airline Aurigny has applied for an operating licence to allow flights to East Midlands Airport to begin.
If it is granted, there will be one service each way on a daily basis from 1 May between Guernsey and the East Midlands.
Malcolm Hart, Aurigny's managing director, said he expected the route to be popular with islanders visiting family in the UK.
