Dead Russian in Dutch plane

Airport mechanics in Amsterdam have found the body of a young Russian man in the landing gear of a plane belonging to the Dutch airline, KLM.

The man, who was carrying a Russian passport, appeared to have died from lack of oxygen and freezing temperatures.

The plane, a Boeing seven-three-seven, had returned late on Friday evening from Moscow and was being serviced when the body was found.

A police spokesman declined to say whether the man was thought to be an asylum seeker, but said his type of clothing suggested he had planned to stow away on board the plane.
