Five paintings by Picasso, Matisse and other great artists have been stolen from the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, France.

The paintings, stolen overnight on Wednesday, are estimated to be worth just under 100m euros (£86m; $123m).

Forensic teams have been combing the scene as police began their hunt for the missing masterpieces.

Art risk consultant Dick Ellis said the operation to steal the paintings would have been "very carefully planned".
