Germany stunned by shooting spree

Officials in Germany say the teenager who shot dead 15 people near Stuttgart yesterday may have given a warning in an internet chat room.

Tim Kretschmer opened fire at a school in Winnenden in the south-west of the country, killing nine children and three teachers.

He shot dead a passer-by and two men at a car showroom before killing himself after a shoot-out with police.

Steven Rosenberg reports from Winnenden.
