UN Security Council reform begins

Negotiations over the expansion of the UN Security Council begin in New York on Thursday.

The challenge facing UN member nations is how to make the council reflect the balance of power in the modern world, rather than that of the 1940s, when it was first set up.

Laura Trevelyan reports from New York.
