Obama takes the oath of office

Barack Obama has been inaugurated as America's 44th president.

On the steps of the US Capitol in Washington, America's first African-American leader placed his hand on the Lincoln Bible, which was used by Abraham Lincoln at his inauguration in 1861, and repeated the oath of office.
