Wife of Kenya's ex-leader dies
Former president of Kenya Daniel arap Moi
Moi ruled Kenya for 24 years
The wife of former Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi - Lena Moi - has died after a long illness.

Mr Moi's press secretary Lee Njiru said Mrs Moi died on Thursday, shortly after her husband had visited her farm.

Current Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki said he had heard of Mrs Moi's death with a deep sense of sorrow and regret.

He described her as a humble lady who had led an admirably full and quiet life. Mr Moi left office in December 2002, after 24 years as president.

Mrs Moi is survived by seven children, including current member of parliament for Baringo Central, Gideon Moi.
