Coastguards' strong tides warning
Swansea coastguards have warned of the dangers of strong tides after a number of bathers were rescued at sea.

A couple stranded by the tide were rescued at Worms Head, Gower.

In a separate incident off the coast of Penarth, a man was taken to hospital after getting into difficulty swimming back from Sully Island.

A spokesman it was a particularly dangerous stretch to swim because of sweeping tides, adding: "This event could have been tragic."

He added: "If the causeway is closed the best thing to do is to stay put and attract attention."
