Youth, 17, dies in two-car crash

A 17-year-old has died after the car he was travelling in left the road, hit trees and was struck by an oncoming vehicle in the Vale of Glamorgan.

South Wales Police said the incident happened between Llantwit Major and St Athan at 0140 BST on Saturday.

The Honda Civic, with four male occupants, lost control on the B4265 towards St Athan, hit the trees and was struck by an Audi car.

The local youth was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the incident would is asked to call the road death investigation team at Gwaelod y Garth on 02920 571600 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
