GLC give Red Nose Day rap lessons
GLC in the studio with Jamie Owen

Newport rappers Goldie Lookin' Chain taught broadcaster Jamie Owen and weatherman Derek Brockway to rhyme as part of Comic Relief at BBC Wales.

Band members Billy Webb, Adam Hussain and Mike Balls joined Jamie live on air as they spent the day at Radio Wales on Friday.

And after Derek rapped a forecast for the coming weekend, they declared they would sack bandmate Maggot to make way for him as their new member.

GLC - famous for their shiny

tracksuits, trainers and bling-bling jewellery - also teamed up with Nicola Heywood-Thomas during her afternoon show.

Throughout the show, Billy, Adam and Mike shed light on the meanings behind some of the songs from their album Greatest Hits, and how they feel about being banned from Top of the Pops and Tesco stores.

Despite being "gutted" at not being able to meet Andi Peters on the music show's set, the band members said they have been able to buy their fresh veg at the local market in Newport.

And while Jamie's listeners were introduced to the GLC brand of music, the boys were also able to dispense some valuable horticultural advice to callers putting their questions to Francesca Kay, the show's regular a gardening expert.
