Youngsters due at Flintshire Street Dance Festival

Dance was one of the popular events at last year's sports festival

Hundreds of primary school children are expected to take part in a street dance festival in Flintshire.

A similar event was held last year as part of the county's Festival of Youth Sport, but proved so popular the council launched a separate contest.

At least 15 schools, and 250 pupils, are due to attend on Tuesday at Connah's Quay Navy Club between 1300 BST and 1700 BST.

Pupils involved have received lessons from volunteer coaches.

The coaches, called Street Beatz, were recruited from schools and colleges across Flintshire.

The festival will include a main team event as well as quad and duo competitions.

A similar event was held for secondary schools in January.

Gareth Hayes, of Flintshire council, said: "We hope all the schools involved enjoy taking part in the event and more young people become involved in street dance."
