An 18-year-old driver has died after his car was in collision with two other vehicles, say South Wales Police.

The man, from Cardiff, who was in a Vauxhall Corsa, was fatally injured in the crash with a van and another car at Stalling Down, near Cowbridge.

Two people in the van suffered minor injuries and were taken to Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales.

The incident happened at around 2030 GMT on Wednesday. The A48 was closed both ways until 0300 GMT on Friday.

South Wales Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have seen a silver Vauxhall Corsa travelling eastbound along the A48 Cowbridge bypass prior to the incident to contact them on 029 20222111.
