A former BBC Wales executive is under investigation by police on suspicion of theft from his employers.

Toby Grosvenor, 44, left his post as head of operations at BBC Wales' Cardiff headquarters in April.

South Wales Police confirmed he was arrested on suspicion of theft from his employers in May. He has been given bail pending further investigations.

A police spokesman said he would be questioned again at a later date.

A BBC Wales spokesman confirmed that an investigation had been underway since Mr Grosvenor resigned from the BBC.

No further information could be provided at this stage, the spokesman said.

As a member of the BBC Wales management board, Toby Grosvenor, was responsible for 330 operational staff at the time of his departure.

He was responsible for technology, outside broadcasts, studios, post-production, facilities management, and BBC premises.
