108 candidates for election in NI

108 candidates are to contest Northern Ireland's 18 constituencies

Nominations have now closed for the 2010 general election, and 108 candidates will be contesting Northern Ireland's 18 constituencies.

The SDLP and Alliance Party both field 18 candidates, Sinn Fein and the Ulster Conservatives and Unionists 17.

The DUP is contesting 16 seats, Traditional Unionist Voice 10 and the Green Party four.

There are seven independents and one People Before Profit Alliance candidate.
