There have been 17 general elections in the UK since the end of World War II - which have resulted not only in the appointment of brand new prime ministers, but the re-election of some familiar faces.

With the help of BBC Radio archives, take a look back at the past six-and-a-half decades and see how Britain voted, and who made it to Number 10.
