Canada complains about EU seal ban

Canada has lodged a complaint at the World Trade Organisation against the EU's import ban on seal skin and fur, saying the ban is based on 'neither science nor facts' and is a violation of the EU's trade obligations.

But the EU - which currently accounts for around 15% of Canada's seal exports - is standing firm.

Canada's ambassador to the EU Ross Hornby tells the programme why he's confident their bid to overturn the ban should succeed.

And from the Parliament, we hear from Arlene McCarthy, the British Labour MEP who played a key role in passing the ban as chair of the internal market committee.
