Prime minister's questions

Gordon Brown has congratulated Barack Obama on winning the US presidential election, saying that the Illinois senator was "writing a new chapter in history" with his victory.

But Conservative leader David Cameron contrasted Mr Obama's promise of change in the US with what he called "more of the same" from Labour in the UK.

Meanwhile, Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg urged Mr Brown to emulate Mr Obama's plans to cut taxes for lower income families.
