A close look at the Taliban's deadly weapon

The 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment, part of the Royal Logistics Corps, has the highly dangerous task of defusing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Afghanistan.

The regiment has lost four men in the last two years - including Olaf Schmid and Dan Read.

Here, WO1 Conductor Martin Laverack shows the BBC's Caroline Wyatt some examples of IEDs successfully defused in the field, and explains how they are made.
