Two of the three British hostages still held in Iraq are now thought "very likely" to be dead, according to the Foreign Office.
Security guards Alan McMenemy and Alec Maclachlan were among five men kidnapped in 2007.
The bodies of two other hostages were returned last month, while the condition of the last remaining hostage is still unknown.
Frank Gardner reports.
