Lorna leaves Academy
Lorna Grant
Lorna's interpretation of Heaven by Bryan Adams failed to impress
A 20-year-old nursery assistant has become the third person to get shown the door in BBC One's Fame Academy.

Lorna Grant's rendition of Heaven by Bryan Adams did not attract the public vote, and she was left languishing in the bottom three spots along with fellow hopefuls Simone Stewart and Louise Griffiths.

Meanwhile, the remaining eight contestants breathed a sigh of relief, their places in the Academy secure.

But the bottom three were left to sweat it out as first the Academy "tutors" - Richard Park, the Bee Gees' Robin Gibb, and husband-and-wife team Carrie and David Grant - and then their fellow contestants decided whom to save.

Unanimous

The tutors gave their vote to Louise - girlfriend of Formula One ace Jenson Button - after a spirited performance of the Leanne Rimes hit How Do I Live.

Lorna, from Edinburgh, was then left out in the cold by her fellow wannabes, who voted unanimously to keep Simone, who sang As by George Michael and Mary J Blige.

The eventual winner will receive a recording contract, a luxury flat and the chance to live the life of pop star for a year.
