Clinton drops by for wedding
![]() Bill appeared in Justin and Rebecca's wedding video
The father of the bride could not believe his eyes when Bill Clinton interrupted a game of golf by walking off the course and into a wedding reception.
Wearing full golfing attire, the former US President halted a convoy of six golf buggies - each carrying security staff - to wish Justin and Rebecca Garnett good luck and appear in their wedding video. Mr Clinton made his impromptu appearance at about 1800 BST on Friday, in the grounds of Rudding Park, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, after giving a speech to business leaders. Speaking from their honeymoon in Mauritius, Mr and Mrs Garnett, who both work in Leeds, said that Mr Clinton endured some friendly jibes from the other guests about the state of his own marriage.
"His security advisers were a little bit nervous to start with - but then decided we didn't present any danger." Mrs Garnett, who works in public relations, added: "All the guests mobbed him." "The whole thing was a very surreal experience." Mr Clinton even signed a menu from the reception for the happy couple, wishing them all the best. Rebecca's father, David Pollock, said his uninvited guest was "an added bonus which was part of a fabulous day".
"He was relaxed and approachable - notwithstanding the amount of security guards stood around him. "You wouldn't have ever believed he was once the most powerful man in the world. It was just wonderful. "He added to a fabulous day, a day which was beyond my expectations on all counts - not just Clinton."
