After the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, newspapers were warned to respect the privacy of the Prince, who is at school at Eton.

The commission's code on privacy was subsequently extended to cover children at school, a move designed to give the Prince further protection.

The commission has previously upheld a complaint by Prince Edward over the publication of a photograph of him kissing his girlfriend.

Our correspondent says this is a warning shot to the press not to go too far. He says that it may not get to formal proceedings if an apology can be arranged.
