Zimbabwe's President Ropert Mugabe says he accepts in principle a Commonwealth-brokered agreement on land reform.

Under the agreement, the Zimbabwean government agrees to stop attacks by black militants on white-owned farms in return for financial assistance to implement a fair land reform programme.

But there have been reports of new land invasions since the accord was announced on Thursday.

20 years after independence - the vast majority of the most productive land in the country is still owned by a small number of white farmers.

Can Zimbabwe's land distribution problem be solved peacefully? Whose responsibility should it be to end the forceful take-over of land? Can Mr Mugabe and his governing Zanu-PF party execute a land reform acceptable to all parties?
