In 2008, I plan on voting Republican, because I believe a vote for the Republicans is a vote for victory.

I'm a political junkie and a staunch Republican living in a household that votes Democrat, in an area that votes Democrat.

I get my views out there by writing and talking on conservative websites and online radio stations, because America needs to hear what my generation and people of my beliefs have to say.

I believe winning the war on terror is the biggest issue facing my generation, as 9/11 is the only defining moment we have lived through.

Whereas my parents had the Challenger disaster and my grandparents had the JFK assassination, I had 11 September 2001 attacks.

I believe that if we lose the war, we lose the future of this nation. We've gone too far to retreat from Iraq and give the terrorists another foothold.

I'm considering going into the military after college so I want to be sure we continue our strategy of combating terrorists over there, so we don't have to fight them here.

Ronald Reagan once said: "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same." He was right, and my generation can't drop the ball.

Another issue of concern for me is illegal immigration. While both Republicans and Democrats seem to have a problem dealing effectively with the issue, most Republicans - with the exception of our president - agree that we need to secure our borders.

I am also concerned with moral issues, including abortion and gay marriage. I fear for the breakdown of the American family.

As for who is best candidate to best represent these interests, I am unsure right now.

I have yet to see a strong conservative candidate that can lead us to victory. The next two years will hopefully reveal just who that will be.
