Vickery back for Six Nations finale
![]() Captain Dawson listens to Woodward announce the team
Gloucester prop Phil Vickery reclaims his first-team place as England coach Clive Woodward names an otherwise unchanged side for the Six Nations finale at Murrayfield on Sunday.
Vickery, who missed the 59-12 victory over Italy in Rome 11 days ago due to concussion, returns instead of Leicester tighthead Darren Garforth.
Vickery has not played since hitting his head on March 11.
He will not complete the mandatory three-week rest period for concussion until this Saturday. His return to the front row means England will be at maximum strength as they go in search of their first Championship clean sweep since 1995. Garforth drops out of the England 22, Vickery's Gloucester team-mate Trevor Woodman continuing in the role of substitute prop. Back rower Neil Back has been struggling with a back injury but is expected to be fit and is also named in the side.
Woodward is refusing to be complacent despite his strong line-up and Scotland's status as huge Calcutta Cup underdogs.
"Scotland are at their most dangerous when they are in a corner - they will be a very easy team to coach this week," he said. "Every country always has one big game during a Championship season, and we are fully aware of the pitfalls. "There is no complacency whatsoever. "I know Andy Nicol (Scotland's new captain) from when I coached at Bath - and I would arguably have chosen him as captain anyway," Woodward added. "It probably strengthens their side, while something like the Hilton affair can galvanise a team." England team to play Scotland in Lloyds TSB Six Nations Championship at Murrayfield on Sunday.
Backs: M Perry (Bath); A Healey (Leicester), M Tindall (Bath), M Catt (Bath), B Cohen
(Northampton); J Wilkinson (Newcastle), M Dawson (Northampton, captain).
