Berkovic 'happy' at Celtic
Berkovic
Berkovic wants to prove himself to Martin O'Neill
Celtic's Israeli midfielder, Eyal Berkovic, has insisted he wants to be a part of Martin O'Neill's plans for the club.

Turkish side, Besiktas, are reported to be interested in taking the talented Berkovic away from Celtic Park.

But the player's agent has stressed that Berkovic is happy in Glasgow with Celtic.

The Turks want the Israeli for their assault on the Champions League next season.

Berkovic's agent, Pinhas Zahavi, said the player is "very, very happy" with life at Celtic.

O'Neill wants to talk to all players
"There has been no approach from Besiktas or any other club," said Zahavi.

"At this time of year, you will hear a lot of stories and this is one of those stories.

"I am sure that there are many clubs who would be interested in buying Eyal from Celtic.

"But there is nothing doing because Eyal has already said that he is happy at Celtic and in Glasgow."

Besiktas inquiry

Besiktas' manager Nevio Scala was confident that he could tempt the 28-year-old midfielder away from Parkhead.

"I have asked about the chances of Berkovic moving and the answer came back: 'Why not?'," said Scala.

Incoming Celtic manager, Martin O'Neill, stated on Thursday that he intended to speak to and see all the players at the club before making any decisions on moves.

O'Neill will also want to speak to striker Mark Viduka before deciding on the future of the Australian international, who has also been strongly linked with a move from Celtic Park.
