Hughes joins Everton
![]() Hughes: Disillusioned with lack of opportunities
Stephen Hughes has completed his £3m move from Arsenal - and could make his first start for Everton against Chelsea on Saturday.
Hughes, who has signed a four-year deal with the Toffees, made his debut for the Gunners five years ago. Since then, however, he has only managed 50 appearances for the club. Speaking at a media conference on Tuesday, he said: "I had a spell on loan at Fulham earlier this season but that didn't work out. "Now I have a chance to join a big club with massive support and to have the chance of playing regularly in the side. "I must admit it has been a very frustrating time for me over the months because I've not been able to play regularly for Arsenal because of all the big stars at the club." Hughes, who is expected to start at Stamford Bridge, added: "I've got a house very near to Chelsea's ground. "So it will be a home from home for me to start my Everton career at Stamford Bridge." |
