Jadeja was unbeaten on 43 when Srinath was finally caught by Gibbs off the bowling of Nicky Boje.
India were in trouble from the third over when Shaun Pollock bowled Sachin Tendulkar (5) to leave India on 9-1.
Skipper Sourav Ganguly stroked four sweetly-timed boundaries in his 27 before being caught by Boje off Jacques Kallis, who then removed Rahul Dravid for eight.

Elworthy added to Indian woes with a double-strike in his second over, then sent back Anil Kumble on his way to taking three for 17, before Jadeja and Srinath provided their late but futile flourish.
India now play Pakistan, who make up the third team in the triangular tournament played annually in the United Arab Emirates.
