Woman, 77, held for stab attack

A 77-year-old woman has been detained after appearing in court over the stabbing of her husband.

Morag Amour, from Comrie in Perthshire, was arrested in connection with multiple stab wounds inflicted on her elderly husband William Amour.

She appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court accused of injuring her husband by repeatedly stabbing him.

She made no plea or declaration during the five-minute hearing and the case was continued for further examination.

Mrs Amour is alleged to have attacked Mr Amour at their home on 17 September by repeatedly striking him on the arm with a knife.

She was made the subject of a compulsory detention order and was ordered to be detained at Murray Royal psychiatric hospital in Perth while further investigation takes place.
