Police have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses after recently launching a review of a fire which killed two men in Fraserburgh.

Derek Youngson, 19, and Derek Roy, 46, died at Kirk Brae on Hogmanay 2006.

A lengthy investigation has been carried out but Grampian Police said the full circumstances leading up to the fire remained unclear.

They want to trace possible witnesses who were in a car park at the rear of the old police office in Kirk Brae.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to a man who was described as wearing a black tammy who was with a woman who had her trousers tucked into her knee-high boots.

Grampian Police said they were "not considered suspects".

The bodies of the two men were found on the top floor of the building, while four other people were rescued from the fire.
