The bird was taken some time between Thursday evening and Friday morning in New Aberdour near Fraserburgh.

It is described as having a distinctive pink head and chest feathers and grey wings and feet.

Grampian Police have appealed for anyone who has information about the theft, or who is offered the cockatoo for sale, to contact them.
