The convention is to be held for a third year

A comic book convention plans to run a school outreach project with support from a local authority.

Hi-Ex is to be staged for a third time at Eden Court in Inverness from 27-28 March next year.

Highland Council has offered funding for the outreach programme which would see artists and writers hold workshops in schools.

Guests at next year's event include writer Alan Grant and Star Wars tribute group 501st UK Garrison.

Organisers Vicky Stonebridge and Richmond Clements said writing and arts workshops for children and adults will also be held at Eden Court over the convention weekend.

It is the first time the event has secured funding from Highland Council.
