Crime spree at city book festival

Ian Rankin
Ian Rankin will host a crime writing workshop

Crime writing dominates the programme of next month's Inverness Book Festival.

Novelists Alex Gray, Stuart MacBride and best seller Ian Rankin will form a panel looking at their stories set in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh.

Rankin will discuss his work with radio show host and former flat-mate Nicky Marr in front of an audience before later leading a writing workshop.

Children's books and poetry will also feature during the festival.

It runs from 5-10 October at Eden Court Theatre in Inverness.

Gray's latest book is called Glasgow Kiss, while MacBride's new book Blind Eye involves the Polish community in Aberdeen.
